Business Profiles Data
Wave Evolution creates profiles of business people and companies, which we call “Business Profiles” from different sources. Once we have collected Business Information about a person or company, we combine multiple mentions of the same person or company into a Business Profile. The resulting directory of Business Profiles (the “Directory”) is then made available to the users of the Site and our customers. Business Information that may be provided in a Business Profile includes name, email address, job title and department, phone number, company name, postal address of company and business-related postal address of the person. Business Profiles may also include links to articles by, about, or quoting an individual and links to an individual’s social media profiles.
Wave Evolution obtains the data for its Business Profiles in several ways, including:

Our proprietary algorithm scans publicly available sources and retrieves public information with advanced tools. For instance, we use this to understand standard corporate email patterns (e.g. firstname.lastname@company.com) and we use it only after the verification process.

Directly from individuals who submit business profile data to us

From third-party companies that collect information on our behalf and license it to us
Wave Evolution also makes certain limited Business Information from its Business Profiles publicly available in our directory pages on our Site. The categories of Business Information that may be made available in the Directory include past or current name, company, company headquarters telephone number, office address, job title, etc.
To Whom Does This Policy Apply
Throughout this Privacy Policy, “personal information” (or “personal data” as used interchangeably) refers to any information that is unique to an individual, such as name, address, email address, phone number, IP address and other information that can reasonably identify an individual. This Privacy Policy applies to personal information (that we collect, store, disclose or otherwise process) from or about:
- Site Visitors – this includes visitors to our Site, including those who do not register for our Services.
- Customers – this includes any individual who registers individually or on behalf of an entity or organization in order to use the Services, whether as part of a free plan or paid subscription.
- Business Profiles – our business is to help people connect professionally, and for this we collect and compile business information about individuals and their companies. As such, we store and process personal information to create Business Profiles of individuals as part of our Services
Personal Information That We Collect
What personal information we collect and process depends on a number of factors. We process personal information that we receive directly from you when you provide it to us, such as when you sign up for our Services, or indirectly, such as through automated technologies (e.g., cookies) or from third parties. If you sign up for our Services, whether as a free plan or paid subscription, we will collect personal information as follows:

For paid subscription Licensees, you are asked to enter your professional email address and payment information (including a credit card number). For this processing, Wave Evolution does not collect or process your payment information directly; payment processing is done by trusted third-party service providers.
If you are browsing or interacting with the Site, we collect the same basic information that many other websites collect. Even if you do not have an account, we, or authorized third parties engaged by us, automatically collect information about your use of the Site, which consists of:

Device Information – information about the devices and software you use to access the Site – primarily the internet browser or mobile device that you use, the website or source that linked or referred you to the Site, your IP address or device ID (or other persistent identifier that uniquely identifies your computer or mobile device on the Internet), the operating system of your computer or mobile device, device screen size and other similar hardware and software information, and language preference

Usage Information – information about your interactions with the Site, including access dates and times, device event information, log data, crash data, and cookie data. This information allows us to understand the screens that you view, how you’ve used the Site and/or our Services (which may include administrative and support communications with us), and other actions on the Site. We use this information to administer and improve the Services, analyse trends, track users’ use of the Site, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

You may be a user that has been provided access to the Site through your company license agreement. Your employer may require that one or more users have global rights to access any and all information of every user that has access through the company. If you have questions or concerns regarding the rights of other individuals in your company to access your user information, you should raise those concerns with the appropriate person at your company.
How We Use Information
In addition to the uses described in the above section, we may also use information for one or more of the following purposes:

How We Share Information
We disclose your personal information as described below:

Service Providers – Wave Evolution discloses users’ information to our third party agents, contractors or service providers who are hired to perform services on our behalf. These companies do things to help us provide the platform, and in some cases collect information directly, for example as explained in payment processing above.

Business Transfers - As we continue to grow, we may purchase websites, applications, subsidiaries, other businesses or business units. Alternatively, we may sell businesses or business units, merge with other entities and/or sell assets or stock, in some cases as part of a reorganization or liquidation in bankruptcy. In order to evaluate or as part of these transactions, we may transfer your personal information to a successor entity upon a merger, consolidation or other corporate reorganization in which Wave Evolution participates, or to a purchaser or acquirer of all or a portion of Wave Evolution’s assets, bankruptcy included.

Cookies and Similar Technologies
Most websites, including our Site, use a feature of your browser to set a small text file called a “cookie” on your computer. The site placing the cookie on your computer can then recognize the computer when you revisit the site to allow auto log in and track how you are using the site. When you visit our Site, our servers and/or those of our service providers automatically record certain information that your web browser sends, such as your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, referring/exit pages and URLs, number of clicks, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, time and date of use, and other information. We may link this information to information that you submit while on our Site, which does allow you to be personally identified. You are free to decline cookies. You can configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, erase cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. Electing to reject or disable cookies may substantially limit your ability to use our Site. Wave Evolution may adopt other technologies that serve similar functions as cookies.
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc., on our Site. Google Analytics uses cookies or other tracking technologies to help us analyse how users interact with and use the Site, compile reports on the Site’s activity, and provide other services related to Site activity and usage. The technologies used by Google may collect information such as your IP address, time of visit, whether you are a return visitor, and any referring website. The Site does not use Google Analytics to gather information that personally identifies you. The information generated by Google Analytics will be transmitted to and stored by Google and will be subject to Google’s privacy policies.
We use social media plug-ins (e.g., Facebook). These features may collect your IP address and/or other information as set forth in each social platform’s privacy policy, which page you are visiting on our Site, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. We also have presence on some social media platforms, including Instagram and LinkedIn. Through our accounts on social medial platforms, we may in some instances collect personal information when you interact with the Wave Evolution accounts or otherwise communicate with us through those accounts. Any information that you post on social media is governed by each social platform’s privacy notices, and any personal information that we collect via our social media accounts will be processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Your Choices
You have choices about how to protect and limit the collection, use, and sharing of information about you. Note that in order to protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting you access or enabling you to make corrections or delete your information.

Accessing and changing your information - You can access and change certain information through the Platform if you are a Customer, or by contacting us as info@waveevo.com

Deleting your account or business profile - If you are a Customer, you may delete your account information at any time by emailing us at info@waveevo.com. We may retain certain information about you as required by law or for legitimate business purposes after you delete your account.

Controlling promotional communications - You may opt-out of receiving some or all categories of promotional communications from Wave Evolution by following the instructions/link contained in those communications. If you opt-out of promotional communications, we may still send you non-promotional communications, such as information about your account and/or transactions, or your use of the Services.
Data Retention
We will retain your information for a period of time consistent with the original purpose(s) for which we collected it, as described in this Privacy Policy. We will retain your information (i) for as long as we have an ongoing relationship with you and as needed to provide you Services; (ii) as necessary to comply with our legal obligation(s); (iii) as necessary to resolve disputes or to protect ourselves from potential future disputes; or (iv) as necessary to enforce our agreements. Retention periods will be determined taking into account the amount, nature, and sensitivity of your information and the purpose(s) for which it was collected. After the retention period ends, we will delete your information. Where we are unable to do so, we will ensure that appropriate measures are put in place to prevent any further use of your information.
Data Security and Integrity
We take steps that are reasonably necessary to securely provide our platform. We have put in place reasonably appropriate security measures designed to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed. We limit access to personal data only to those employees, agents, contractors and the third parties who have a business need-to-know.
We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. If required, we will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach. We also require those parties to whom we transfer your personal information to provide acceptable standards of security.
Notwithstanding, no Internet or email transmission is ever fully secure or error free. In particular, email sent to or from the platform may not be secure. Therefore, take special care in deciding what information you send to us via email.
International Transfers
Personal information that we collect is stored on servers located in Singapore. This means that your personal information will be collected, processed and stored in Singapore, which may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country or region, such as the GDPR, CCPA, etc. Your personal data may be transferred to other countries for processing, support, storage and other necessary activities and by using our Services. You consent to the transfer of information to countries outside of your country of residence, which may have different personal data protection rules than in your country. For example, we may make available personal information to our related companies in Malaysia and Hong Kong in order to provide Services to you. If we transfer your information outside of Singapore in this way, we will take steps to ensure that your privacy continues to be protected in a manner which is consistent with Singapore privacy law.
Changes to this Policy
Wave Evolution may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time, to reflect eventual changes in the way we process Data. If we make material changes to this policy (such as a change in our processing purposes, a change in the identity of the controller, or even a change regarding the way you can exercise your rights in relation to our processing activities), we will notify you, as appropriate depending on the substance of the change, by email or by means of a notice on our website’s homepage, prior to the changes becoming effective. Your continued use of the Site after any updates to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
